Kimberley Guide

Queues for lifts are rare here in Kimberley making it convenient and ideal for beginners and families. You have got to try out the longest illuminated run in Canada, so you can ski at night, lit up beautifully until 9 pm, night skiing is included on your lift pass and most passes also include a ski away day to neighbouring resort of Fernie.

Skiing in Kimberley for Beginners

Beginners skiing in Kimberley will start on the front side of the mountain, enjoying the wide open runs and well groomed smooth piste, perfect for perfectly those caring turns and stops. The ski school here is fantastic, offering great group or private tuition and childcare in Kimberley in second to none. Many hotels offer childcare options and the ski school offers crèche and kindergarten with fully qualified staff. Your kids will love it.

Intermediate Skiing

Kimberley really is a Mecca for the intermediate skier, the powder snow is deep and long lasting and the variety of sunny reds and blues will challenge and excite you. The Black Forest area also offers some steep chutes and areas to practise those curving turns too.

Kimberley Advanced Skiing

The advanced terrain in the bowl challenges you with many blacks, steep and exciting and some steep mogul runs to put you through your paces.

For Snowboarders, the entire mountain is yours to enjoy, try the expanded terrain park with its jumps and rails or enjoy the off piste with its abundance of natural obstacles.

Kimberely’s Apres Ski really offers a Bavarian style to it, with its exclusive, traditional bars based at the base of the mountain, a mere 5 minute walk from the lifts, or try Kimberley s alpine village, only 5 minute bus ride from town with it selection of livelier bars and restaurant and a good selection of shops.

Tours for the non skier here are brilliant, Helicopter tours over the ridge, mountain tours or dog sledding. Also cinema, ice skating and some of Canada’s fabulous hot springs and spa treatments make Kimberley suitable for all.
