Ortisei is a wonderful resort situated in the Gardena Valley, it’s the largest of these areas resorts and ideally positioned for access to the Dolomiti Superski area and the Sella Ronda Ski Circuit. Ortisei combines both Italian and Austrian charms and traditions and the accommodation is of high standards, expected in these areas. Ortisei has a fantastic pedestrianised village centre, set with oldie worldly buildings and winding streets, just beautiful.

Beginners will progress quickly on the beginners slopes, easily reached by gondola or 4 man chair near the village centre and the local ski school offers excellent tuition from English speaking instructors.

You can either take a private lesson or join in a group, and they will soon have you skiing the gentle blues in Ortisei and neighbouring Selva.

Children are well looked after too, neighbouring Selva, easily reached by cable car has a wonderful kindergarten, taking children from 1 year old, and again, offering ski and non ski child care. Many hotels offer baby sitting services to making Ortisei a perfect family destination.

Intermediates are in ski heaven when they visit this wonderful area. With possibilities of skiing 1220 kilometres of varied piste in the whole Dolomiti Ski area, there is really no reason why you need to ski the same run twice.

The Sella Ronda ski circuit is easily accessible, combining resorts such as Arabba, Corvara or Cortina on one lift pass, it’s no wonder people return here year after year.

Advanced skiers can experience the men’s downhill run at St. Cristina or the chutes and steep descents in neighbouring Arabba or experience glacier skiing in the Marmolada Glacier. Off piste opportunities are second to none.

Snowboarding in the Dolomiti are definitely some of the best in the world. Ortisei in particular has a wonderful lift system which will take you up onto the wide, sunny slopes where you can get miles and miles of snow under your belt.

Evenings in Ortisei are usually spent exploring the bars and pubs in the traffic free village, or eating out in one of the amazing restaurants serving local and international cuisine.

Non ski activities include bowling, cinema, sleigh rides and ice skating as well a browsing the wonderful designer shops and boutiques in this resort and neighbouring Selva.
