All of Obertauern’s shops, bars and restaurants are also right on your doorstep. The rooms are simply decorated with solid wooden furniture and, most importantly, they’re clean and warm. An extra special perk is the small wellness area, which has a sauna, steam room and whirlpool – bliss after a long day on the mountain. The Tauernglöckl is offered on a bed and breakfast basis, so you can start the day with a varied breakfast buffet. To make things simpler, you can also upgrade to half board to enjoy evening meals six nights a week – and still have an evening free to sample one of the local restaurants. Whatever you decide, the hotel’s onsite pizzeria is a must-try.
