The Stadttor is very traditionally Austrian. Loads of dark wood lines the bar and restaurant areas – and we bet if those walls could speak they could tell you a tale or two from over the years. This older Styrian style of decor is what gives this place such an incredible amount of character – well, that and the owners, Michaela and Charlie. And it’s hard to imagine this place being the same without them.The Stadttor takes its name from the nearby 'Town Gate' - the remaining gateway into the old medieval town – and it has a really friendly atmosphere. Being family-run, you’ll get that personal touch as well as spacious superior rooms ideal for families.When it comes to the hotel's facilities, you’ve got a sauna and infrared cabin - great after a day out on the slopes. The bar and lounge is the real hub of the hotel though – you’ll regularly see people congregating around the bar for a nice glass of wine and a bit of entertaining conversation with their hosts.If you want to stay at the Stadttor, we’d recommend booking early – this is a haven for returning visitors to Schladming.
